Ross Clark had something rare when he came to us — an active social media following, a recognisable local brand in Chesterfield, and a Google Business Profile that was already pulling some weight. But he had a critical gap.

When someone watching his Instagram work wanted to get in touch, there was nowhere proper to send them. No website meant no professional landing point, no quote form, and no way to systematically capture the interest of people already following his business. Enquiries were sporadic and depended entirely on people hunting down a way to contact him directly — and most simply didn't bother.

On the SEO side, there was real untapped potential sitting there. A business with his reputation and local following deserved to rank. Without a website, that simply wasn't going to happen.

We built Ross a fast, professional website focused entirely on converting visitors into enquiries. Every service page was structured around the search terms local homeowners in Chesterfield and Derbyshire actually use — porcelain paving, resin driveways, composite decking — with clear calls to action and a quote form that made it effortless to get in touch.

Alongside the build, we fully optimised his Google Business Profile, ensuring it was firing properly across Chesterfield and the surrounding area. On-page SEO was built into the site from the ground up, with proper structure, metadata, and page content designed to give Google clear signals about what Coppermill does and where they operate.

We've also completed a targeted off-page SEO campaign — focused link building to start building domain authority alongside the on-page foundations. It's not a heavy volume approach, but quality placements in the right places.

Results

The first months told a story in two parts.

The website immediately did its first job: give Ross's existing Instagram following somewhere to land properly. People who had been watching his work for months finally had a professional way to enquire. The early leads in July and August came heavily from social — not because of SEO, but because a good website opened a channel that simply didn't exist before.

From there, the SEO has steadily taken hold. Google Search Console data shows monthly impressions climbing from under 1,000 at launch to a peak of 7,449 in March 2026. Organic clicks followed the same arc — 17 in August, building steadily through winter, then breaking out to 113 in a single month by March.

October through December were slower months, as they always are in the landscaping trade. Demand naturally drops in winter, and the numbers reflect that. But January and February delivered 7 and 6 leads respectively — strong figures for winter months, and a clear sign that the SEO foundations are working year-round rather than simply capitalising on spring demand.

March and April saw the business properly accelerate: 10+ and 12+ leads respectively. May is already tracking ahead of that pace with 3 leads in the first four days alone.

The off-page SEO work is still in its early stages — which makes these results even more notable. The growth to date has come primarily from a well-built site and solid on-page optimisation. As the domain authority continues to compound, the trajectory only goes one way.
